 On the rebound from a failed relationship, Paul, a young, naive Italian living in London, impulsively marries Alicia, a captivating girl from work. Unbeknownst to Paul, Alicia is using him to escape the chaotic home of her drug-addled mother and criminal brother. Scarred by her troubled family, Alicia struggles with the realities of marriage and the responsibilities it demands. Paul reaches breaking point and decides to leave her.
